About

Andrew McDonald has had a 20-year career in the marine industry as a captain, marine mechanic, and marine electrician. A graduate of Georgian College’s ‘Mechanical Techniques – marine engine mechanic’ program, he is also certified as a marine electrician through ABYC, and has an MBA through Augment Business School. An avid boater – power and sail – with a Master’s ticket from Transport Canada, a marine mechanic by trade, and thousands of hours of sea time (trading time between the helm and folded into the engine compartment), Andrew has many stories and lots of advice.

Andrew has been presenting and writing on DIY and technical topics since 2017. He loves sharing his knowledge and supporting owners in solving mechanical/technical problems, while staying safe and worry-free on the water.
