Riviera Announces New 6200 Sport Yacht Ahead of 2026 World Premiere

Australian builder Riviera has announced the launch of its new 6200 Sport Yacht, with the model set to make its world premiere at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May 2026.

The 6200 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition will make its public debut on May 21st at the annual event on Hope Island, Australia. Riviera will also showcase the 5600 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition at the same event.

Riviera Australia owner Rodney Longhurst shared Riviera’s Sport Yacht design philosophy, saying “it embodies four essentials: timeless styling, luxurious single-level living, effortless blue-water performance and ease of operation."

"Our new Sport Yacht, the 6200 is truly outstanding by any measure, reflecting Riviera’s leading-edge boat building expertise and more than 45-years heritage launching over 6,300 handcrafted, luxury motor yachts. I am so proud of our Riviera team, and while you may think we’re a little biased, we believe this new 6200 Sport Yacht is pure magic.”

The new design will carry an LOA of 20.86 m (68'4") with a beam of 5.35 m (17'6").

The burgeoning boatbuilder has also been making inroads with the North American market, helped noticeably by impressive displays at signature events like the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The company impressed U.S. crowds in 2023 with the launch of the 585 SUV at FLIBS then followed it up with the global launch of the 58 Sports Motor Yacht in 2024.

The company first launched the Sport Yacht series in 2005 with the 3600 and will now welcome a new model nearly twice the size. Since 2005 the lineup has steadily expanded to include a multi-model range within the builder’s Platinum Edition collection.

Design and Layout

The 6200 Sport Yacht features a single-level main deck layout integrating the cockpit, saloon, and helm areas.

Forward to starboard is an L-shaped lounge dining area with a handcrafted, folding timber table that comfortably seats a larger dinner party by adding occasional chairs or ottomans.

Forward, the foredeck is configured as an additional entertaining space with lounges, sunpads, and onboard audio systems.

The aft deck boasts a very capable alfresco entertainer’s galley complete with side-by-side BBQ grill and hotplate, extractor fan, two stainless-steel refrigeration drawers, an icemaker and a wet bar with solid surface benchtop, sink, mixer and bin. An electric blind on the long hardtop lowers to the top of the aft lounge at the press of a button to shield the afternoon sun and together with tinted glass quarter panels adds more privacy and weather protection.

The U-shaped galley features include a three-element induction cooktop with removable potholders, a multifunction oven/microwave, a one-and-a quarter sink with premium mixer, solid surface waterfall benchtops, ample storage, a corner pantry, rangehood and a dishwasher. It also includes a full-height refrigerator with two freezer drawer units and a bar/serving station with two refrigeration drawers, a wine cooler, and a drinks cabinet for bottles and glassware.

Accommodation is arranged across a lower deck with options for three or four staterooms, each with ensuite bathrooms. A full-beam master suite is standard, while buyers can configure an additional utility room or crew cabin with integrated laundry facilities if they choose. The full-beam master stateroom features tinted hull windows and opening ports, a king-size walk-around island bed and His and Hers cedar-lined hanging lockers with multiple drawer sets. To starboard is a timber bureau and make-up station complete with a lift-up lid and ottoman seat. Further aft is a pull-out clothes hamper conveniently located by the entry to the ensuite bathroom. The master stateroom also includes a portside chaise lounge, reverse-cycle air-conditioning, designer headboard, bedside tables and a flush-mounted LED Smart TV with soundbar.

Engineering and Performance

Power will come via twin Volvo Penta D13 IPS 1200 engines, each rated at 900 horsepower. The well-known IPS system is a preferred choice for midsize to large yachts thanks to its impressive power-to-weight performance and fuel efficiency.

One of the 6200's standout feaatures is joystick control integrated at three stations — one at the helm and two on the aft deck — all to assist with low-speed maneuvering and docking from almost anywhere on the boat.

Optional systems include Volvo Assisted Docking, Humphree fin stabilizers or Seakeeper gyro stabilization, and Starlink connectivity.

The 6200 Sport Yacht also incorporates a network of onboard cameras that provide live views of the bow, cockpit, engine room, and swim platform, displayed at the helm for captain or crew to monitor.

Deck Features and Systems

Perhaps the most notable exterior feature is an electro-hydraulic swim platform that lowers into the water to form stepped access. The system integrates with a roller and winch for launching and retrieving a 3.6-metre tender as needed.

The tender garage itself accommodates the secondary vessel but also offers significant storage room for water toys, diving gear, or other backup equipment.

The aft deck includes port and starboard wing doors for direct access to docks, while the helm station is equipped with touchscreen navigation systems and a curved glass windscreen for visibility.

Warranty and Build

The 6200 Sport Yacht is backed by Riviera’s two-year express warranty and a seven-year structural limited warranty. The Volvo Penta propulsion package includes a five-year limited warranty.
