Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the biggest yachting hub in North America, will soon have a yacht-inspired apartment building thanks to Italian boatbuilder Riva.
Riva, one of Italy's most renowned yacht makers, began as a wooden boat builder on Lake Iseo in Sarnico in 1962. Today, the company is revered for their luxury yachts and superyachts blending ultra-modern aesthetics with high-end performance.
Their international footprint it growing, too, as the company has been expanding in North American with increasingly larger displays at major U.S. boating events like the Fort Lauderdale and Miami boat shows.
Now the company is putting the skills of Giuseppina Arena, their signature couturier from their Ferretti Group of superyacht designers that includes Riva, into an exclusive waterfront apartment complex on the Florida coast.
The company's foray into accommodations will be the Riva Revidenze -- a contemporary building located on the Intracoastal Waterway on Fort Lauderdale Beach. The location is conveniently located next to the Bahia Mar Yachting Center -- the central hub for yachts and superyachts in Fort Lauderdale and the signature venue of the annual boat show.
The 20-story building is located at 3019 Harbour Dr. and will not only house 36 posh apartments with a uniquely Riva-inspired style, it will also include an in-house marina for up to six yachts. Tenants will not only have a view of the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, the location will also give them access to a litany of luxury venues including restaurants and shopping centers.
The apartments will be offered in both two, three, and four bedroom layouts with 2000-6000 square feet of living space. Two penthouses will offer six bedrooms apiece. Each penthouse will be up to 9000 square feet. Amenities for some of the units, depending on selection, include private elevator entrances, high ceilings, and large, open living areas with panoramic views. They also include Italian-designed kitchens with high-end appliances and spa-like bathrooms.
The building's services will also be extensive and will include concierge services, an art gallery, a meditation garden, a residents' lounge, a cinema, and a wine room. There will also be a Techno Gym fitness center, yoga and pilates studio, and a dedicated wellness center with a lap pool
On the roof will be the 'SkyDeck' with panoramic views of the ocean and Intracoastal Waterway complemented by a 50-foot infinity pool and a 3400 square foot 'SkyLounge.'
To make the units uniquely Riva, each apartment will use many of the same design cues as the yachtmaker -- ribbed mahogany accents, steel detailing, minimalist decor, and an aesthetic focused on relaxation.
It's worth noting that Riva has dabbled in residential accommodations before, just never in North America. While the Riva Residenze will be the first 'Riva Brand Experience' living concept in the U.S., the company has 10 Riva Lounges in the world's most exclusive boating destinations including Porto Cervo, Puerto Banus, Mykoonos, Paris, Venice, and Monte Carlo. They also have the Riva Boutique which offers apparel, high-quality accessories, collectibles and design objects inspired by the company's boats.
Riva launched their first wooden model, the Aquarama, in 1962 and its unique style has forever remained at the forefront of the company's ethos.
“The Aquarama revolutionised the idea of going on holiday, experiencing the sea and above all of being exclusive, establishing a new benchmark for elegance: since then, Riva has been more than simply a boat brand, representing a world of beauty and style that has inspired design, fashion and lifestyle choices. Riva Residenze takes the Brand’s signature aesthetics – combining mahogany, steel, the colour aquamarine and timeless styling – into the luxury living sector. The quality and focus on detail that have made Riva famous are unique and universal characteristics that increase the value and appeal of every living space,” said Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi in a press release.
The building is currently in pre-construction and is expected to be complete in 2028. Pre-construction sales currently have the units listed between $3.5 million and $9 million USD.
The project is being developed in partnership with Ocean Harbor Holdings, investment first WellDuo, Vertical Developments, and GCF Development.
