Sea Ray Debuts SLX 360 Outboard with Integrated Digital Helm at CES

Sea Ray SLX 360 Outboard

The growing influence of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas is cruising into recreational boating.

Sea Ray Boats, part of Brunswick Group, unveiled the all-new SLX 360 Outboard at the tech event, marking a new era in Brunswick's broadening market strategy.

The 36-foot model will expand Sea Ray’s large premium day boat offering while also adding the latest technology, updated onboard systems, and revised layout features aimed at enhancing usability and comfort. The new model will carry an LOA of 38'1" with engines and anchor, a 10'10" beam, a dry weight of 18,100 pounds, a 275 gallon fuel capacity, and 30 gallons of freshwater capacity.

The SLX 360 OB was developed at Brunswick’s Technology Center in Florida and reflects increased integration across several Brunswick brands. Sea Ray describes the vessel as featuring a fully integrated user interface, particularly at the helm, which the company says is its most automotive-inspired design to date.

“At Sea Ray, we design every model with the goal of creating unforgettable experiences on the water, and the SLX 360 Outboard delivers on that promise at every turn,” said Keith Yunger, President, Sea Ray, in a press release. “From its automotive-inspired helm to its yacht-class amenities, this model reflects a new era of Sea Ray design, where technology, craftsmanship, and comfort come together seamlessly. We are proud to introduce a boat that truly elevates what boaters can expect in this category.”

Helm features include dual Simrad Ultrawide NSX displays, steering-wheel-integrated controls and connectivity with Mercury Marine outboard engine systems. The onboard systems will support touchscreen control, auto-routing, autopilot functionality, automatic lighting, joystick piloting, an integrated bow thruster, and access to onboard diagnostics.

Standard power will be triple Mercury 300 Verado V8 outboards equipped with Joystick Piloting, Digital Throttle & Shift (DTS), and e-Steering. An optional power upgrade to triple Mercury 425 Verado V10 outboards is also available.

Optional power systems will include a Fathom e-Power energy solution and a gyro stabilizer, which Sea Ray says are designed to improve efficiency, comfort and stability. One of Brunswick's latest technological breakthroughs, the autonomous maneuvering Simrad AutoCaptain, will be a future option. Large hullside windows on both sides of the bow increase natural light and visibility.

The latest interior and deck features support extended day use and short overnight stays. Handy features include a climate-controlled cockpit and private cabin and a full stand-up head that can be accessed without exiting the sleeping area. Additional perks include an engineered swim terrace door to improve water access, a convertible summer galley, a powered helm seat, and a rotating powered port companion seat.

The SLX 360 OB will be offered with four package bundles depending on the owner's needs -- Comfort bundle, Entertainment bundle, Essentials bundle, and Lighting bundle. It will also be available with three colour scheme options -- full hull scheme, hull side colour scheme, or three zone gel coat.

Full hull and hull side colour options include Arctic White, Horizon, Kingfisher Teal, Neo Mint Green, Onyx Black, Quantum Blue, Rally Red, and Sea Ray Blue.

Hull bottom colours are available in Arctic White or Onyx Black.

Storage and service access are notable standout features in the design, which includes an oversized in-floor cockpit storage compartment, a feature not commonly found in the 35-foot and larger range. Clever storage compartments with large capacity can be found throughout the main deck.

The SLX 360 Outboard will make its industry debut at the upcoming Miami International Boat Show in February.
