Sea Ray Launches SDX 230 Series with Built-In NextWave Surf

ree

Sea Ray Boats has announced the launch of the all-new SDX 230 lineup for 2025.

The new lineup will feature the SDX 230, SDX 230 Outboard, and SDX 230 Surf.

The three models will carry an LOA of 23'2" (23'6" with outboard), an 8'6" beam, and a 60 gallon (227 L) fuel tank.

The SDX 230 Surf will feature Sea Ray’s NextWave surf system -- a fully integrated wakesurfing system engineered for riders of every skill level. Designed to deliver consistent, rideable wakes, the system includes more than 1,000 lbs. of ballast, electric surf tabs, and Active Trim, providing powerful waves with a customizable experience.

The well-known Brunswick-owned brand has been systematically expanding its popular SDX series over the last two years. The company launched the European-built SDX 270 Surf in late 2024 and the SDX 250 Surf in early early 2025. Now a handy 23-foot option will help round out the fleet. Sea Ray also launched several brother and sister models during the same time period, including the larder SLX 280 in early 2024 and the smaller SPX 190 models in mid-2024.

The system is powered by Mercury Smart Tow with a Sea Ray's exclusive surf interface. The system includes three activity-specific presets while dual Simrad 9” NSX touchscreen displays (standard on the Surf) offer easy control and visualization.

“The SDX 230 models round out our SDX lineup with a brand-new 23-ft. option,” said Keith Yunger, Sea Ray president, in a press release.

“The SDX 230 is a great fit for boaters who are looking to expand their adventures on the water without sacrificing the ease of trailering, storage and versatility. Paired with premium amenities and impressive performance, this multipurpose boat has it all.”

The all-new SDX 230 will carry the following signature features:

  • Wide open cockpit layout with plush L-shaped seating.

  • Optional cockpit table, ample charging ports and storage options, including a transom in-floor compartment for wet gear.

  • Starboard compartment can be upgraded to a head for uninterrupted enjoyment on the water.

  • Spacious bow with U-shaped lounge seating, an integrated cooler, and optional filler cushion

  • Convertible transom sunpad with folding backrest offers a seamless transition to the water, complemented by a broad swim platform and standard ski tow eye (with an optional ski tow pylon on the Outboard).

Power options are variable based on size and power type (sterndrive or outboard) and are available with the following models:

  • SDX 230: 250-hp Mercury MerCruiser 4.5L MPI ECT with Bravo Three® drive

  • SDX 230 Outboard: 200-hp Mercury FourStroke

  • SDX 230 Surf: 350-hp MerCruiser 6.2L MPI ECT with forward-facing Bravo Four S® drive and contra-rotating props

All models will come equipped with SmartCraft Digital Throttle & Shift (DTS), a 9” Simrad touchscreen (dual screens standard on Surf), SmartCraft Connect, Active Trim, and a premium Fusion audio system.

Several option bundles are available as well depending on user needs to maximize their on-water capability. The packages include:

  • Entertainment Bundle: Offering inductive phone charging and upgraded audio

  • Comfort Bundle: Inclusive of bow filler cushions and extra tables

  • Highline Appearance Package (Surf only): Featuring upscale upholstery, SeaDek flooring upgrades, and a sleek two-tone exterior.

The new SDX 230, SDX 230 Outboard and SDX 230 Surf models are already available for order in North America with international availability to be announced soon. #news #products #searay
