Sea Ray continues to expand its offering for 2024.

The popular Tennessee boatbuilder has announced the debut of the SDX 270 and SDX 270 Surf for the upcoming year.

The move follows other 2024 announcements including the all-new SPX 210 and the SLX 280. The company also recently made the foray into surf boats with the SLX 260 Surf in 2022, and will now carry that further with the SDX 270 Surf.

The new SDX 270 models will be available in sterndrive and surf configurations and are designed to accommodate a wide range of on-water activities in a handy 27-ft. package. As with all Sea Ray designs, there's a noticeable focus on large social zones, powerful propulsion, storage, and premium amenities.

“The SDX 270 and SDX 270 Surf are the latest boats in our lineup to receive a keel-up redesign, and the first SDX models crafted with our next-generation design language,” said Keith Yunger, Sea Ray president in a press release.

“Also, the SDX 270 Surf is the first surf addition to our SDX Series. Built for maximum enjoyment, the vessels offer lots of space and storage, and premium amenities and features to keep families entertained for hours on the water.”

The SDX 270 cockpit offers L-shaped bench seating, flexible configurations, an integrated cooler compartment, USB outlets, and inductive charging stations. The cockpit also hides a convenient board storage compartment under the bench seat. Above the cockpit is an electric-folding watersports tower -- standard on the surf variation and optional on the sterndrive model. The tower features elevated tow points for wakesurfing or wakeboarding and can be raised or lowered for easy storage. Options include tower speakers and board racks on each side.

The SDX 270 bow area offers lounge-style seating, a bow ladder, and an integrated cooler to store drinks and snacks. With the optional Comfort Bundle, the bow also includes a table and filler cushion to convert the lounge into a sunpad. The bow can also be upgraded with a manual bow sunshade, and a windlass is available as part of the Anchor Bundle.

At the transom, the sunpad backrest folds down to enlarge the social space and an optional Fusion stereo control switch avoids going to the cockpit to change tunes. A wide swim platform with a concealable ladder and manual submersible step makes for easy reboarding -- optional on the sterndrive variation and standard on the surf boat.

The helm is equipped with a Digital Dash, showcasing a standard 9″ Simrad NSX touchscreen display (dual 9″ NSX displays are standard on the surf variation) and Mercury Marine SmartCraft Connect for engine monitoring. Other highlights include Active Trim control and monitoring and an optional inductive charging station. The windshield is curved for improved visibility, and the oversized helm seat has a movable backrest that converts it from a forward-facing to aft-facing seat. For additional seating flexibility, the port companion seat also converts from forward-facing to aft-facing. The port dash houses the Fusion RA210 stereo head unit for audio entertainment, and an area under the port dash can be used to stow a carry-on cooler.

The SDX 270 is powered by a standard 300-horsepower Mercury MerCruiser 6.2L engine with a Bravo Three drive, SmartCraft technology, and Digital Throttle & Shift (DTS) controls. The SDX 270 Surf is propelled by a standard 350-horsepower MerCruiser 6.2L engine with a forward-facing Bravo Four S drive, contra-rotating props, SmartCraft technology and DTS. The forward-facing drive enables the boat for wakesurfing and improves maneuverability when docking or traveling at low speeds.

The SDX 270 Surf system generates repeatable, rideable waves for wakesurfing via the boat's tapered transom to produce a clean wave. Electric surf tabs, Active Trim and three ballast tanks featuring 1,900 lbs. of ballast control the height of the wave and produce a long or short pocket. The boat is also equipped with a Sea Ray custom surf interface powered by Mercury Smart Tow featuring three pre-set modes for surfing, wakeboarding and skiing/tubing, or boaters can use the visual display to adjust the settings with the touch of a button to accommodate riders of all skill levels.

The SDX 270 and SDX 270 Surf are now available for order in North America.
