Yamaha and Siren Marine Launch Siren 3 Connected Boat Device for Canadian Market

The latest Siren 3 connected boat technology is a perfect fit for mid-sized boats with outboard power. Yamaha Motor Canada and Siren Marine have announced the launch of the Siren 3 connected boat technology in Canada. The latest addition to Siren Marine’s line of Connected Boat devices is tailored for small to mid-sized boats, including outboard-powered vessels, pontoons, deck boats, and bass boats.

“When Siren 3 Pro first launched, it set the standard for marine Internet of Things (IoT) devices with its flagship device. Now we’re excited to expand the Siren Connected Boat lineup for a whole new market segment with the Siren 3."

"Canadian boaters now have a solution to check in on their mid-size boat regardless of whether it’s in the driveway at home, at the family cottage or anywhere else,” said Andrew McDonald, Yamaha Motor Canada's Marine Product Specialist, in a press release.

The Siren 3 allows boat owners to monitor, track, and maintain their boats remotely using the Siren Connected Boat mobile app.

Siren Marine was purchased by Yamaha in 2021 to help expand the company's smart technology capabilities. Since then, Siren and Yamaha launched the first iteration of the Connected Boat Experience in May 2024 with the help of Kingfisher Boats in British Columbia.

The app is available to download in both the Apple App Store and Google Play for Android.

Siren Marine specializes in IoT (Internet of Things) solutions and lead the industry forward with their Smart Boat Monitoring system, which relays boat information to an associated smartphone app. The system gives users access to their boat's data, including engine status, battery power, GPS position, temperature, bilge status, and more. The app provides owners with a single platform where the entirety's of their boat's electronics can be viewed and controlled. The system also includes security and anti-theft features, geofencing, and the ability to remotely control nearly all of a vessel's onboard activity.

“This is the most comprehensive IoT solution available in the Canadian marine industry at this price point,” said McDonald.

The Siren 3 device supports up to six wireless sensors using SirenWAVE, Siren's proprietary communication protocol, which ensures a fast, reliable, and secure connection between the device and its sensors. A newly designed internal antenna minimizes installation space, making it especially suitable for smaller vessels.

The system can monitor a hard-wired battery and is compatible with most vessel and power types. It integrates with both the NMEA 2000 network and Yamaha’s CommandLink network for mechanical engines up to 300 horsepower.

Once connected through the app, boat owners can monitor real-time vessel data, enhance security, and control key functions from their smartphone or smartwatch.

Siren 3 will be available starting in May 2025 and can be installed by the boat owner, the manufacturer, or at Yamaha marine dealerships across Canada. Canadian MSRP will be $429.95 plus applicable taxes.
