The acquisition will be the first time a North American electric propulsion has purchased a dealership.

Canada's Vision Marine Technologies Inc. has announced the acquisition of Nautical Ventures Group, Inc., a Florida-based recreational boat dealership, marina, and service provider with six locations.

Recently named the 2024 Boating Industry “Dealer of the Year," Nautical Ventures is one of the top boat dealership networks in the United States and the number one Axopar dealership globally.

The acquisition is a rare move for an engine manufacturer. Access to a large-scale marina facility will give the Quebec-based company an assortment of assets for developing and expanding their line of electric propulsion systems.

The purchase is also another unique step for the burgeoning motor manufacturer. Vision Marine has consistently defied industry norms while blazing a new path in the electric propulsion category. Not only has the company pushed the envelope in electric propulsion capability, including setting the electric world speed record at the most recent Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, they have also initiated several keynote partnerships with other boatbuilders including an agreement with Smoker Craft to develop a pontoon boat and with Groupe Beneteau to offer Vision Marine motors across the conglomerate's portfolio.

“This acquisition marks a pivotal step in Vision Marine’s strategy to scale and compete at the highest level of the global boating industry,” said Alexandre Mongeon, CEO of Vision Marine in a press release.

“The market is entering a new phase—one defined by innovation in propulsion, increasing demand for integrated solutions, and rising expectations from both OEMs and consumers. By joining forces with Nautical Ventures, we gain immediate access to a proven retail and service network, allowing us to accelerate the rollout of next-generation marine technology. Nautical Ventures’ founder & CEO Roger Moore has been a mentor and friend for over a decade, and I am honored to carry forward this shared vision under one banner.”

Nautical Ventures operates nine high-volume retail locations across Florida, including two flagship waterfront showrooms. The dealership offers a wide portfolio of well-known name brands including Axopar, Beneteau, Brabus, Edgewater, Flite, Highfield, Hobie, Mercury, NorthStar, Seabob, Smokercraft, Suzuki, Tohatsu, Wellcraft, and Yamaha. Florida is also the busiest recreational boating hub in North America and provides an excellent locale for developing products, generating consumer feedback, and gaining access to the U.S.'s largest boating market.

“Nautical Ventures has always focused on bringing the best products and experiences to boaters. Our partnership with Vision Marine allows us to stay true to that mission while expanding what’s possible. Electric propulsion is no longer a future concept—it’s here, and it’s ready” said Nautical Ventures CEO Roger Moore.

According to Vision Marine, the acquisition will provide a turnkey operation for design and manufacturing, boat integration, sales, sea trials, professional installation, and long-term maintenance. Nautical Ventures’ well-established dealer network will also have direct-to-consumer reach to offer its E-Motion electric systems across a variety of boat brands already integrated into Nautical Ventures' portfolio.

The company will also gain access to key boating markets via Nautical Ventures’ six Florida locations and diversify revenue streams by adding dealership sales, rentals, parts, and service to Vision Marine’s OEM production business. #news #visionmarine
