Renowned Oconto, Wisconsin boatbuilder Cruisers Yachts has entered a new market segment with the launch of the all-new VTR Series.

The first two models, the 38 VTR and 38 VTR EC (Enclosed Cockpit) will debut during the upcoming tradeshow season.

“The VTR is more than just a new boat—it’s a new way to think about boating,” said Mark Pedersen, President of Cruisers Yachts in a press release. “We’ve created a platform that delivers yacht-level quality in a versatile, family-ready package. It’s where luxury meets utility, and it’s built right here in the U.S. for the next generation of boaters.”

Key features of the new VTR fleet include a single-level deck, dedicated cooler storage, wide walkways, deep gunwales for added safety, and a fully private head with shower. Multiple layout configurations will be available so boaters can choose a design that best suits their intended use, whether for entertaining, cruising, or adventure.

Other standout available options include roof racks for paddleboards and bikes, retractable beach doors, built-in cooler storage, optional grills, private head with shower, air conditioned cabins, and dual sleeping areas.

As their name implies and location suggests, Cruisers is well-known around the Great Lakes region for building capable cruisers and small yachts for extended cruising. A popular choice for Great Loopers and long distance boaters, the company's foray into an adventure-style boat marks a new chapter and coincides with the growing trend towards European-influenced design paired with big water capability.

At the heart of the VTR is a hybrid stepped hull, developed in collaboration with DLBA Naval Architects.

“The VTR’s hull is a masterclass in balance,” says Christopher Swanhart, PMP, Director of Recreational Boats at DLBA Naval Architects. “We engineered it to deliver efficiency, predictable response, and a smooth, stable ride in all conditions, so owners feel secure and in control.”

The EC (Enclosed Cockpit) version will feature all-weather protection with the ability to open the cockpit for an open-air boating experience. Full panoramic views are provided thanks to a complete glass enclosure while also keeping easy access to the bow lounge.

The two new models will be available in five different configurations -- base, aft bench, sunlounge with storage, standard forward cabin, and sunlounge aft cabin. Each offers a unique floorplan and layout catered to the owner's specific needs. Five hull colours are also available -- full hull white, full hull black, full hull Kingston grey, full hull Baltic blue, white hull with Kingston grey plank, and white hull with Baltic blue plank.

The first two models, the 38 VTR and 38 VTR EC will carry an LOA of 40'0" (with outboards down) and an 11'10" beam. Both will carry a 36" draught, a 233 gal fuel capacity (882 L), and a 50 gal freshwater capacity (189 L). Standard power will come via twin Mercury V8 Verado 300 HP outboards with an option for twin Mercury 400s.
