Cruisers Yachts is expanding its VTR lineup with the launch of the all-new 45 VTR and 45 VTR EC.

The Oconto, Wisconsin-based builder provided a first look at the two models ahead of their official debut at the upcoming 2026 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show later this month.

Both models carry an LOA of 45'4" with the outboards down, 47'3" with the engines raised, and carry a beam of 13'10". The two models will share a hybrid stepped hull developed in partnership with DLBA Naval Architects, which also developed the hull for the 38 VTR launched in 2025. The two new models were developed based on feedback from customers and dealers.

“Great products begin with a deep understanding of the people who use them,” said Cruisers Yachts President Mark Pedersen. “As a company, we are committed to listening to our customers and dealers, anticipating where the market is going and continually challenging ourselves to build better experiences on the water.”

Josh Delforge, VP of Operations and Engineering, added that the 45 VTR and 45 VTR EC expand the VTR series with two new models focused on maximizing space and performance.

"We approached the 45 VTR and 45 VTR EC with a clear focus on creating boats that are thoughtfully designed from the inside out. Our team looked closely at how owners want to use their boats and focused on maximizing space, functionality, comfort, and performance while elevating the design and character that define the VTR series. Bringing these two models from concept to the water has been an exciting process, and we're proud of the attention to detail and craftsmanship that went into every aspect of their design," said Josh Delforge, VP of Operations and Engineering

45 VTR

The open 45 VTR uses a single-level main deck with wide walkways and multiple available seating configurations. The helm and central seating area use a hardtop, while the aft deck can be configured with an open transom storage, U-shaped seating, or an aft-facing sunlounge.

The U-shaped aft seating can also be converted into a sunpad. An outdoor galley includes a sink and storage, with an electric Kenyon grill available as an option.

The 45 VTR also features a folding section of the port hull that opens to create an approximately 14'10" platform at the water.

Below deck, the forward cabin includes a convertible dinette that can form a berth. A private head includes a separate shower, sink, toilet and storage.

45 VTR EC

The 45 VTR EC uses the same hull and overall platform as the 45 VTR but adds an enclosed main-deck cabin.

The cabin features three-panel sliding doors that can open forward or aft, along with air conditioning and a skylight. Inside, the main deck includes a galley, refrigerator, integrated storage, and dining area. The sliding doors allow the enclosed cabin to connect fully with the exterior deck areas when opened all the way.

Like the open 45 VTR, the EC offers multiple aft configurations including an aft-facing sunlounge with storage or an additional berth below. A configuration combining the berth with a second wet head is also available.

The forward cabin below deck includes a convertible dinette that forms a berth and a private head with a separate shower.

Hybrid Stepped Hull

Both of the new 45 VTR models use a hybrid stepped hull designed by DLBA Naval Architects.

“The 45 VTR takes the proven hull form of our popular 38 VTR and elevates it to a larger, more stable platform,” said Christopher Swanhart, PMP, Director of Recreational Boats at DLBA Naval Architects. “Its sleek design features a fine entry at the bow that transitions seamlessly into an optimized blend of beam and deadrise.”

"Smartly positioned strakes help reduce spray and generate lift to minimize drag, while quasi-steps ventilate the outboard hull bottom, lowering wetted surface for improved efficiency. Together with a carefully balanced lower center of gravity, these features ensure lower trim through the hump and a smooth, confident running attitude at all speeds," he added.

Power Options

The 45 VTR and 45 VTR EC will be powered by triple Mercury Verado outboards with 300-hp and 400-hp options depending on configuration. Maximum horsepower rating is 1,200. Top speeds are expected to be over 50 mph.

The new models will come standard with a 362-gallon (1370 liter) fuel capacity and 50-gallon (189 liter) freshwater capacity. The 45 VTR will carry a listed dry weight of 21,760 pounds (9870 kg), while the 45 VTR EC has a pre-production estimated dry weight of 22,960 pounds (10,414 kg).

A Seakeeper 5 stabilizer is also available as an option, as well as joystick piloting for low-speed maneuvering and docking.

VTR Line Expands

The 45 VTR and 45 VTR EC will be the second pair of models in Cruisers Yachts’ VTR series since launching last year. The company introduced the VTR line in 2025 with the 38 VTR and 38 VTR EC in September 2025.

The original 38-foot models established Cruisers' new VTR format, marking a noticeable change from their namesake hull shapes for long distance cruising and overnighting. The new VTR series brings an open water dayboat or short overnighting option for shorter trips, big water, and more adventurous travel. The 45 VTR and 45 VTR EC will now offer that same approach into a larger platform while adding triple-outboards and additional deck and accommodation options.

"There is a strong desire for boats that offer greater versatility, comfort and capability without compromising the experience our brand is known for. The 45 VTR and 45 VTR EC give our dealers two exciting new options to meet those expectations and reach more boaters looking for their next boat," said Dan Zenz, Vice President of Sales at Cruisers Yachts.

The 45 VTR and 45 VTR EC will make their public debut at the upcoming 2026 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show running Oct 30th-Nov 1st.
