Correct Craft has expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of Fluid Motion LLC, the Washington-based parent company of Ranger Tugs, Cutwater Boats and Solara Boats.
The company announced the transaction with a press release, saying Fluid Motion will continue operating independently while retaining its existing brands, employees, and headquarters in Monroe, Washington. Fluid Motion will also continue serving its dealer network and existing owners under its current structure.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"We are excited to have Fluid Motion join us as part of the Correct Craft family," said Correct Craft CEO Zach Hutcheson in the press release.
"John and his team have built something special, and the culture and quality around Ranger Tugs, Cutwater and Solara fits naturally alongside our existing brands. We're excited to continue providing their owners with exceptional products and experiences."

Fluid Motion traces its history to the Ranger Fiberglass Boat Company, founded in Kent, Washington, in 1958. The business was acquired in 1998 by John, Jennifer and David Livingston and developed into Ranger Tugs. They then launched Cutwater Boats in 2011 and Solara Boats in 2022. Today, the company designs, engineers, and manufactures all three brands at multiple facilities across Washington State.
Ranger Tugs manufactures cruising boats ranging from 23 to 43 feet with diesel inboard and gasoline outboard propulsion options. Cutwater builds cruisers from 24 to 32 feet focused on mid- to long-distance cruising and overnight accommodations, while Solara Boats builds sporty, trailerable day boating and fishing models equipped with a wide range of innovative standardized features not seen elsewhere in the industry.

"I am proud of the company and brands that our team has built," said John Livingston of Fluid Motion in the company's announcement. "The acquisition by Correct Craft provides significant opportunities for long-term growth while continuing to honor the legacy of Ranger Tugs, Cutwater and Solara. Most importantly, it provides additional security and opportunity for our employees, dealers, and the owners who trust us with their time on the water."

The acquisition by Correct Craft continues a period of active expansion for the longstanding industry leader.
In April 2025, the company introduced Revel Boats, a new pontoon brand focused on offering a luxury cruising experience with sleek engineering and high-end features. They also acquired well-respected inboard engine maker Indmar Engines in 2022. Indmar joined the company's Pleasurecraft Engine Group alongside PCM Engines, Crusader Engines, Levitator Engines, and Velvet Drive Transmissions.
With the addition of Fluid Motion, Correct Craft's portfolio now includes Nautique, Centurion, Supreme, Bass Cat, Yar-Craft, SeaArk, Parker, Revel, Ranger Tugs, Cutwater Boats and Solara Boats, as well as its engine lineup and engineering subsidiaries. . #news #correctcraft #rangertugs #solaraboats #cutwater
