Yamaha Announces Big Changes to Sport Boat and WaveRunner Line-Ups for 2021

By: Scott Way

Word hit the newswire late this week that Yamaha had unveiled their most extensive launch yet. It wasn't hyperbole either, as 2021 will see them dive deep into multiple burgeoning categories with the release of a new four-stroke SuperJet®, all-new VX® and GP™ WaveRunners, an all-new 25-foot boat platform, four all-new premium 21-foot runabouts, and two new 25-foot FSH models.

2021 will also mark the 35th anniversary of the creation of Yamaha's WaterCraft group, and clearly they wanted to make a splash. Mission accomplished. Yamaha has been building momentum in recent years with the all-new 275SD making our list of the Top 5 Most Innovative Designs of 2020, and the upgraded Helm Master EX Control System offers a whole new level of applicability and usability that will see extensive distribution in years to follow. There's a lot to digest here, so here's a quick breakdown of the new Superjet, WaveRunner and Sport Boat models hitting the market in 2021:

Superjet Series:

For 2021, the Yamaha SuperJet has been redone from the ground up to challenge a new generation of stand-up riders with a torquey four-stroke Yamaha marine engine and nimble performance hull that's 142 pounds lighter and 8.8 inches shorter than its competition. No longer reserved for professional racers and requiring a racing licence, the 2021 SuperJet will find appeal to a wide audience.
