Yacht Rentals Now Available Through Google Maps in Europe

Yacht rentals are now available through Google Maps for the first time ever.

Boatscribe, based in Europe with operations across the continent, has integrated their yacht charter listings into Google Maps and Google’s “Things to Do” platform. When users search within Google Maps for a "Things to Do" in their area, they will now see nearby yacht charters which can be reserved using its associated tools. The listing will show live yacht availability and realtime pricing.

It marks the first time yacht rentals have been incorporated into Google Maps and the “Things to Do” experience, which is already a popular tool for travelers searching for nearby tours, activities, and attractions within their immediate area.

Based in London, England, Boatscribe currently has operations in Croatia, Greece, Italy, France, Spain, Turkey, Portugal, and the Caribbean Islands. The company currently lists more than 36,000 yachts across over 1,000 destinations worldwide. The Boatscribe platform works by aggregating charter inventory from operators and brokers and converts the information into data that can be displayed in Google’s booking interface. They raised €250,000 ($340,000 USD) in pre-seed funding to support their development and expansion.

How it Works

Boatscribe acts as the "integration partner," by supplying Google with charter inventory data. The company aggregates their listings from charter companies and brokers to create a single dataset that operates in realtime. This allows charter companies to reach travelers earlier in the trip-planning process when they are searching destinations, attractions, or marinas in Google Maps before a trip, or when they've arrived in an area and begin searching for immediate options for recreation.

Yacht charters have traditionally been marketed through brokers, specialist websites, and charter companies. By integrating yacht rentals into the same digital booking infrastructure used for other travel experiences, it allows boaters and those searching a boating adventure to quickly find a resource near their destination. Long term, the goal would be to standardize booking technology to improve online visibility for charter operators.

“If Google 'Things To Do' accepts your inventory, your architecture is clean,” said Illia Kolomoiskyi, CEO and Co-Founder of Boatscribe.

“This integration validates our data pipeline and positions yacht rentals as a first-class travel product inside Google Maps, where discovery actually begins.”

How Listings Appear in Google

Yacht charter options now appear within the “Booking options” section when users view marinas in Google Maps. The listings can be accessed on both desktop and mobile devices. The displayed information includes:

  • Real-time availability calendars

  • Pricing information

  • Vessel specifications

  • Links that direct users to complete bookings

The integration of yacht rentals into Google is being rolled out in phases. Initial listings with Boatscribe are focused on Mediterranean charter destinations, with additional locations expected to be added over time. The first live listing is located at the Ece Marina in Fethiye, Turkey with additional marinas in Greece, Croatia, Spain and Turkey scheduled to be added during early 2026 as the rollout expands.

Booking Process

Users who select a yacht rental listing are redirected to the charter provider or broker to complete the reservation. Google does not process the booking directly. The listings function similarly to the existing “Things to Do” system for tours and attractions, where Google provides discovery and comparison while the transaction takes place on the supplier’s website.

As companies like Boatscribe and Google continue to expand digital capability activities like boat rentals and yacht charters will likely become readily accessible through Google platforms. Currently, if a user access Google Maps to explore things in their area, options like restaurants, theaters, and hotels dominate the space. Now boaters and like-minded adventurers will be able to source a nearby on-water adventure without having to filter through endless search results to find the right fit.
