Viking Yachts has announced the launch of a new Viking 64 at the upcoming Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October. The 64 Convertible will be the second generation of the model and will feature an opulent four-stateroom, three-head fishing platform for the luxury sportfish market.

Viking Yachts carries a sterling reputation in the 50-60 foot sportfish market and the new 64 Convertible will give their devoted fanbase another option for extended adventures and high stakes fishing trips.

“We never stop – it’s that simple,” says President and CEO Pat Healey. “Every new model is an improvement from the last one because we’re a design- and engineering-driven company. We have the best team in the business, and this is what we do – design and build incredible boats.”

The 64 Convertible will take influence from the smaller 54 Convertible currently on the market but will now give Viking its largest option in the category. All told, in the last 20 years the company has released 8 different models in the over-60 foot category accounting for over 550 yachts.

“It’s a staggering amount of boats,” said Healey. “And the team that designed and engineered all of those Vikings is the same team that designed and engineered our new 64. We’re very proud of that.”

As one would expect the list of standard equipment is extensive and robust. For fishing features, the 64 boasts flush rod holders, fresh and raw-water wash down systems, a transom fish box with livewell, side lockers for tag sticks and gaffs, port and starboard fish and storage boxes, an optional in-deck livewell, and a stereo sound system to motivate the crew when hooked up or after hours.

The 64 will feature a 180-square-foot cockpit with mezzanine seating covered by a flybridge overhang with optional air conditioning. It also will be available as an Enclosed Bridge model. The main deck incudes a port side home theater with a 50" pop-up HD TV and a starboard L-shaped lounge with storage for entertaining, relaxing, or recuperating. There is also a raised portside dinette with seating for four which faces the starboard-side galley. The galley includes walnut cabinets, custom flooring, stone countertops, a bar with two stools, two under-counter refrigerators, one freezer, a microwave/convection oven, and a four-burner cooktop

Below deck the master and forward staterooms both carry queen size walkaround berths with storage underneath, HD TV's, and ensuite heads. There is also an optional crossover berth arrangement for the forward cabin. The master suite on the starboard side carries matching his/hers hanging lockers, a credenza, end tables, and an additional HD TV.

Power options include twin MAN V12 1550CRM (1550 MHP) diesels as standard power. Other options include twin 1900 MHP to 2025 MHP powerplants. The first 64 Convertible to be unveiled at Fort Lauderdale will boast twin MTU Series 12V 2000 M96X (2002MHP) engines.
