New product announcements are starting to trickle in from the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
Scout Boats was one of the first out of the gate with the launch of three new models - the 281 XSS, the 377 LXF, and the 400 LXF.
The 281 XSS will serve as the flagship option in Scout's 'Bay Boat' lineup, while the 377 LXF and 400 LXF will enter into the midrange of their ultra-popular 'Luxury Center Console' series.
All three models are currently on display at the event, which runs through Sunday Oct 30th, and are already available for pre-order from Scout dealers.
The South Carolina based company has been edging closer towards luxury yacht sizes and styles in recent years. In 2021, the company debuted their 425 LXF S-Class luxury center console. Their popular 'Luxury Center Console' series, which they keep under the moniker LXF, now has offerings as big as 53'5" with the 530 LXF.
Here's a quick breakdown of what to expect from Scout in 2023:
281 XSS
The 281 XSS will be an inshore/offshore crossover built with Scout's well-known Carbon Epoxy construction. Notable features include a large casting fore and rear deck, dual stern bait/fish boxes, ample rod storage, and port and starboard tackle storage. The 281 XSS couples the luxury of a Scout with the characteristics of a serious bay boat. The entire bay boat collection from Scout is instantly recognizable for its aggressive lines, high performance, and all around fishability.
Standard features on the 281 XSS will include transom storage boxes specifically designed to fit (4) fenders, dual helm seats with flip-up bolsters, fresh and raw water washdown in the leaning post with hose reels, a porta potti, and a leaning post with baitwell, Corian countertop, cutting board and rod holders as well as a 65-quart YETI slide-out cooler.
Notable options will include a fishbox conversion to a livewell (port and starboard boxes), a recirculating leaning post livewell, bow rod/cup holders, Minn Kota Terrova RT 112 trolling motor with iPilot, as well as multiple upgradable Garmin, stereo, and outrigger options.
377 LXF
The 377 will employ Scout’s carbon fiber epoxy-infused double-stepped hull. The Epoxy-infusion process is utilized on models 37’ and above and provides a Class A finish, with more stability in the hull while reducing the overall weight in the boat - countering the long-term ideology that a larger boat must be heavy to perform.
Standard on the 377 LXF is a lithium ion battery with a battery management system, portside swing-in boarding door with ladder, double sun deck lounge with cushions, armrests and underside storage forward of the console, key fob remote controlled lights, a spacious cabin down with an enclosed head with a porcelain vessel sink, a Corian vanity, and mirror, a marine head with electric overboard discharge and an 11 gallon holding tank, and 120V air conditioning and heat in both the cabin and the helm.
Optional upgrades on the 377 include a Seakeeper 3 gyro stabilizer that includes hardtop solar panels, summer kitchen complete with a grill, sink, cutting board, manual slide-out cooler, seat cushion and bolster, an electric SureShade integrated retractable aft awning (that works in conjunction with the patented retractable/articulating rocket launchers), and your choice of upholstery color package.
400 LXF
The 400 brings a double-stepped hull crafted utilizing Scout’s epoxy-infusion with carbon fiber/e-glass construction, promoting a stronger, faster, more fuel-efficient model. LOA is 39’ 7” with a 12'1" beam.
The 400 LXF carries the company philosophy forward with perks like a standard hydraulic port side beach platform with synthetic teak (ideal for boarding/de-boarding away from the transom and engines), and two standard Garmin 8616 touch screens at the helm. From the helm and the key fob, the owner can control features throughout the model with the help of C-Zone digital switching technology as well. There’s also a standard Seakeeper 3 gyro stabilizer (with optional upgrades to a Seakeeper 5 or 6), electronically-actuated SureShade integrated retractable aft awning, and Scout’s electronically-actuated articulating rocket launchers.
Other standard features include a port and starboard acrylic transom access door, gas shock-assisted hatches, flush mount cleats and rod holders, port and starboard floor fish boxes with overboard diaphragm discharge, a powder coated hardtop with curved glass enclosure, under hardtop/under gunnel LED dimming courtesy lighting, and two hardtop-retractable water hoses for fresh and raw water. Access for mechanical service is made easy with the help of a completely-finished and accessible midships mechanical room.
Down below, amenities include a single-burner glass stove cooktop, microwave, flush mount 32” LED flat screen TV, galley sink, drawer refrigerator, enclosed shower/head area with toilet, sink and mirror w/ vanity cabinet. Stainless accents can be found throughout, while a convertible queen berth serves passengers well after a full day of fishing or entertaining.
Notable options include a bow table and filler cushion, upper helm flybridge, Release Marine Helm Chairs and Battle Saddle, real teak upgrade, compressed air toy inflator, hardtop-mounted spotlight, Taco 380XL cranking outriggers with 20’ carbon-fiber poles, and Lumishore underwater LED lighting.
