Revolutionizing Boating on Georgian Bay with Yamaha's Helm Master EX

This summer, Andrew Scott of What A Ride and I had the opportunity to spend a day aboard a Stanley Lighthouse Shoecraft 264 CC powered by Yamaha F250 engines with Digital Electric Steering & Yamaha's Stage 4 Helm Master EX.

It was such a great experience, and we learned so much, that we decided to film it and share it with boaters to show just how handy Helm Master EX can be.

The Helm Master EX technology truly redefines boating. It enhances control, precision, and maneuverability, and makes boating so much simpler. If you’ve never had the experience to try this technology on a vessel, it’s a must-do! It creates exceptional peace of mind and confidence when out on the water.

But first, let's talk about what it can do.

Yamaha's Helm Master EX boasts advanced features for a seamless, intuitive, and confidence-inspiring entire vessel system. Here's a quick rundown of what you can expect:

  1. Auto Pilot – quickly plot and plan your journey with the push of a button.

  2. Course Hold - Holds the boat course automatically adjusting for wind or current drift.

  3. Track Point - navigates through operator selected multi-function display waypoints.

  4. Heading Hold - Holds the boat compass setting. Applicable also to reverse shift for enhanced back trolling.

  5. Pattern Steer - Pre-selected patterns that are adjustable – Spiral, Zigzag, Pattern Search, and Williamson Turn - useful to find signs of fish at a target spot.

  6. Stay Point - Seeks to automatically maintain both boat heading and position.

  7. Fish Point - Seeks to automatically maintain boat position only (not heading) using minimal rpm for fishing.

  8. Drift Point - Seeks to maintain heading (only) while allowing natural drift via prevailing wind/current.

  9. Drift Point Track - Seeks to maintain heading while drifting along a track (route) of operator-selected waypoints.

  10. Joystick Control: Intuitive, 360-degree maneuvering for effortless docking and navigation.

Helm Master EX isn’t just for brand new boats, either. It can also be integrated into existing boats that have Yamaha engines. There are four stages of Helm Master EX, so inquire with your local Yamaha dealer to learn about its potential and to take advantage of helpful and intuitive features.

Yamaha's Helm Master EX does a great job of blending innovation with user-friendly design. Even more than that, it empowers boaters to navigate challenging water conditions with confidence. If you want to learn more, just visit Yamaha Motor Canada.
