Mercury Racing has announced the launch of the all-new Altitude propeller line during the opening of the Miami International Boat Show.

The Altitude propellers are specifically designed for outboard-powered hulls that benefit from a thru-hub exhaust propeller. They're intended for those seeking top-end speed over 90+ mph while also avoiding sacrificing low speed maneuverability and planing performance. Typical boat types for the Altitude propeller include catamarans, V-bottom hulls, and offshore center consoles. The prop is best suited for boats carrying between 250-500 horsepower per engine.

Mercury Racing has invested significant resources into their mid-range power platforms since 2024. The company unveiled the 250 APX outboard in early 2024 before surprising the recreational and high-performance market with the all-new 150R and 200R outboards in September.

“The Altitude allows us to provide our high-performance customers with a new propeller option designed specifically for high speeds,” said Jeff Broman, Mercury Racing general manager, in a press release.

“While the Altitude is ideal for our newer outboards, it can also be an ideal addition to many of our legacy propulsion options.”

The Altitude will be a fully CNC-machined propeller with the same proprietary 5-axis technology as Mercury's existing sterndrive and outboard solid hub CNC Cleavers.

Altitude also includes another element of customization with an industry-first modular barrel design for dialing in stern lift. Four different barrel lengths are available for custom order in 0”, 1”, 2”, and 3” options. All Altitude propellers will be 5-blade and feature broached splines for either 1.25” (250-450 hp) or 1.50” (500 hp) prop shafts. They will be available in 18-degree rake from 26 to 28 pitch, and 15-degree rake from 30 to 35 pitch. All Altitude models will be available in both right-hand and left-hand rotation.

The Propeller Case will ship standard with all Altitude propeller purchases from authorized Mercury Racing dealers.

The Altitude will be available for sale beginning March 1st, 2025.
