Mercury Racing & Flite Unveil Fastest & Most Powerful e-Foil Ever

Flite and Mercury Racing have collaborated to launch the Fliteboard RACE- the fastest and most powerful e-foil produced by the Brunswick-owned brands.

The electric hydrofoil surfboard is being showcased at the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. Engineered for higher top speeds and overall performance, Flite describes it as their most potent e-foil to date. It was developed to appeal to competitive and advanced riders within the growing electric foiling segment of watersports.

The Race bears several keynote racing-inspired features, including a carbon fiber construction paired with red 'Rosso' racing stripes. The proprietary Flux_707 wing allows riders to turn on a dime with increased rail-to-rail response, ideally suited for intermediate to advanced riders. The unique 'Flitecell' battery system also allows for the fitment of any Flitecell battery, allowing riders to choose their power choice for increased range or lighter weight.

The new model is the result of a collaboration between Flite — acquired by Brunswick in late 2023— and Mercury Racing, the conglomerate's high-performance marine propulsion division. The RACE incorporates a custom impeller designed for higher RPMs and is engineered to reach top speeds of up to 34 mph (30 knots). According to the release, the board also uses FLITELab surf foiling wings, which are intended to enhance responsiveness and stability at speed.

Nick Stickler, president of Flite, said the partnership with Mercury Racing signals progression in the company’s product roadmap. “By combining Mercury Racing’s propulsion expertise with Flite’s innovation in electric hydrofoils, we’ve created an eFoil that redefines what’s possible in speed, control, and competitive performance,” he said.

"Fliteboard has done it again, reimagining what a performance board can be with RACE. A fresh take that's faster, sharper, and pure adrenaline," said 8x wakeboarding world champion Harley Clifford.

The RACE model launch will also coincide with updates to Flite’s digital ecosystem. New features in the Flite App include a leaderboard game called APEX 250, which allows riders to compare metrics such as speed and lean angle in a competitive format, and expanded performance data tracking, providing riders with additional analytics on ride dynamics.

The acquisition and development of Flite by Brunswick is part of the industry leader's broader move toward expanding electrification and electric capability across boating, known broadly as the ACES Strategy (Autonomy/Assistance, Connectivity, Electrification, and Shared Access). Brunswick acquired all issued and outstanding shares of Fliteboard as part of the sale in 2023. The Byron Bay, Australia e-foil manufacturer is already leading the charge with recreational e-foiling and the expanding consumer market. Fliteboard now operates within the Propulsion segment under the Mercury Marine banner.

The Fliteboard Race will have an MSRP starting from $14,399 USD.
