Nearly a year ago to the day, Marquis Yachts re-launched and introduced the luxury M42 to the world. As the outboard market continues to grow, for 2021 Marquis will now offer outboard power by way of triple Mercury Verado 400 HP engines. The outboard model will in fact serve as the standard configuration for the M42 going forward, with dual inboard 6.7 L Cummins 480 HP diesel engines serving as an available option.

In order to redesign and retool the existing M42 to allow for the formation of the M42 OB, Donald Blount & Associates collaborated with Marquis Yachts engineers to extend the running surface while incorporating a platform to bracket triple Mercury Verado outboards. According to Josh Delforge, Vice President of Design & Engineering at Marquis Yachts, ”The M42 OB is a blast to drive. It turns on a dime, a rocket ship at wide open throttle, and the ride is extremely comfortable and stable.”

The M42 OB will offer the same features and accommodations as the original M42- including a large aft sunbed, expansive cockpit with U-shaped seating, entertainment wet bar, and a large helm that accommodates up to two 16" Raymarine displays. Below deck features a full galley, convertible forward seating, and a large head with a stand-up shower stall. The list of options and colors is indeed impressive, as no future owner will be cornered by limitations during the ordering process.

By way of the reconfiguration of the aft section of the boat, owners gain a large storage area in place of the previously standard Cummins diesel inboards. The storage area itself offers ample space for watertoys and shore time accessories such as folding bikes, inflatable SUP's, or other inflatable anchoring accoutrements.

“We are excited to add the Outboard version to the M42. The boat looks absolutely stunning, performs like a thoroughbred with the standard Merc 400 Verados and has all the requirements needed for an incredible, complete day on the water and when desired, overnight,” said Marquis Yachts President & CEO, Rob Parmentier.
