Beneteau will revitalize the Gran Turismo in 2025 with a new range of crossover express cruisers.

The well-known French boatbuilder will unveil three models over the 2025 season -- the Gran Turismo 35, Gran Turismo 40, and Gran Turismo 50.

Much like the originals, the new series will take styling ques from the GT automobiles of the 1960s. The helm station, in particular, is designed to be 'driver-focused' to create a 'sports driving experience' with responsive performance.

“This is an exciting time for Beneteau,” said Eric LeVine, motor yachts sales director, in a press release.

“Gran Turismo has been a hugely popular range for express cruising, showcasing our technology, performance and style. But there was a need to update and modernise the models for our core market. Designed with the consumer at its heart, the new range embodies our vision of ‘Sport-Lux’, providing open spaces with a premium feeling. The all-new Gran Turismo range represents the ultimate crossover express cruiser.”

Beneteau will also continue its long-term partnership with sports brand Alpine to offer limited edition versions of the new Gran Turismo series.

Compared to older iterations of the Gran Turismo, the new designs will have up to 30% more exterior space for more social space and lifestyle amenities. Standout features include a "villa living" stern with drop-down terraces to create an oversized social area around the stern sofa and table. Within the sofa is storage for watertoys and other equipment.

All the new models will also be equipped with solar power systems and lithium batteries for quieter use of onboard systems while anchoring. Gyro stabilisation is also standard across the lineup.

“The new Gran Turismo range is designed to be remarkable. Period,” said Robert Chaffer, Beneteau product manager.

“With the new Gran Turismo range, we had the rare opportunity to start with a blank canvas. To strip what an ‘express cruiser’ means back to its original roots. When express cruisers were sleek and beautifully proportioned craft. This rich heritage and the adoption of the Japanese design principles of kanso (simplicity) and yugen (gracefulness) have allowed the team to create a deceptively simple but powerful silhouette that is further enhanced by how we have used the play of light to direct and enhance the exterior styling and interior tranquility."

“We listened to our customers and have embraced a minimalist, elegant approach that we are confident will appeal to consumers who want the flexibility and opportunity to thrive and have fun on the water. We’re excited to see the reaction to the range when the models come to market later this year.”

The original Gran Turismo 35 featured a single cabin with accommodations for up to four guests. The original Gran Turismo 40 featured twin cabins with more space below deck, a large open cockpit design, and more amenities at the stern for socializing. Both models first appeared around 2014 and were were retired by the early 2020s. The largest, the Gran Turismo 50, debuted in 2017 and included a full-beam master suite, two or three total cabins, a hydraulic swim platform. It was retired in 2021.

The new model template shows a blend of the original lineup's list of features paired with a minimalist design and a sleeker aesthetic. The new series takes some inspiration from the ultra-modern design trends blending smooth exterior surfaces with internal simplicity that's adaptable and allows for multiple uses.

The first opportunity to see the new Gran Turismo series will be at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2025, followed by the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October 2025 and then the Dusseldorf Boat Show in January 2026.
