Aquila Catamarans to Debut All-New 45 Sport at Miami

ree

Aquila Catamarans has announced the launch of the all-new Aquila 45 Sport power catamaran at the upcoming Miami International Boat Show in February.

The new model will represent the Chinese manufacturer's latest addition to their sport boat lineup with a renewed focus on performance, connectivity and expanded use cases within the recreational boating sector. The brand is owned by the Sino Eagle Group who have significant inroads into the North American market thanks to well-received designs blending quality amenities with value.

The 45 Sport will be positioned as a larger, more capable model in Aquila’s sport power catamaran range, following the company’s existing 32 and 36 Sport models. At 46'6" (14.17 m) with a 15'2" (4.57 m) beam, the vessel is engineered to accommodate up to 29 passengers and certified under CE categories B, C and D, suggesting good suitability for a broad range of boating in both coastal and inland waterways.

"The 45 Sport reflects Aquila's continued push to reimagine what's possible on the water," said Jean Raas, Chief Product Officer & CEO of Aquila USA in a press release. "We set out to create an entertainment platform that doesn't compromise on performance. With top speeds exceeding 50 mph and a comfortable cruising speed of 38-40 mph, you spend less time commuting and more time doing what you love. The expansive aft deck with fold-down terraces creates an unmatched social space, while our double-stepped hull design delivers the exhilarating performance today's boaters expect."

Power will come via twin Mercury Verado V12 600 HP outboard engines while the hull design will feature new double-stepped technology intended to improve fuel efficiency and vessel stability relative to more traditional designs.

Connectivity is one of the core themes of the 45 Sport’s design and presentation. The helm station includes a four-seat layout with flush-mounted 16" chartplotters, C-Zone digital switching, joystick controls and integration with Android and iOS devices for system monitoring and operation. Connectivity extends to onboard systems including lighting, navigation, electronics, and stereo controls, reflecting wider industry trends toward integrated digital interfaces.

The vessel’s deck layout is also intended to support both leisure and utilitarian applications. The aft deck includes flip-down gunwales that expand the platform into an expansive 19-foot social zone with convertible U-shaped seating and a manual high/low table. Other perks like an integrated swim ladder, BBQ, and television underscore the platform’s adaptability for charter operations or recreational use.

Below deck, the 45 Sport offers a single cabin with a king-size berth and a private head with electric flush toilet. An optional advanced lithium battery system is available to support air conditioning for overnight stays, giving it broader appeal for multi-day excursions or extended adventuring.

The structural build employs vinylester resin infusion throughout the hull and deck, a method Aquila says will provide greater resistance to moisture and chemical degradation and following suit with modern composite marine manufacturing. No wood is used in structural components or below the waterline.

The release of the 45 Sport comes as Aquila continues to broaden its model range, which includes other sport and yacht-oriented catamarans up to 70 ft in length. The 45 Sport will make its public debut at Miami, which runs Feb 11th-15th, 2026. You can get the first look at the 45 Sport below:
